Speaking at a press conference, senior congress leader KC Venugopal said that on the remaining seats, the party will support the candidates of the DMK and alliance parties.

Addressing reporters, Venugopal exuded confidence of the DMK-led combine winning all 40 seats in TN and Puducherry and said the 'bonding' between the Congress and the DMK "is intact."

On Friday, the party released its first list of 39 candidates nationwide. The party has announced candidates for six out of 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh. It lost its power to the  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in last year's assembly polls. The list includes former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, two former state ministers, and a sitting MP.

Congress MP DK Suresh has been fielded in the Karnataka Bengaluru Rural constituency, while Kerala Congress President K Sudhakaran is set to contest in an upcoming election.

Congress leader KC Venugopal announced the list in a press conference in Delhi on Friday. The Lok Sabha election is expected to take place in the next few months. However, no official announcement has been made by the Election Commission yet.
