In a tragic incident, three children drowned while taking a bath in a pond in the Golf Course region in Dwarka on Thursday. The Delhi police stated that Dwarka Sector-23 police station received a PCR call at approximately 7 AM today, adding that a team rushed to the site. The authorities, upon reaching the site, found that the children were submerged in the pond. The police informed that all the victims were retrieved with the assistance of the fire brigade, adding that they have not been identified yet.
"With the assistance of fire brigade personnel, all three children were retrieved from the water," Kushal Pal Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), was quoted as saying by the Indian Express. An official further stated that the clothes were lying outside the pond, suggesting that the children had entered into the pond to take a bath.
"Upon reaching the location, police found three children dead in a pond inside the golf course premises. The bodies were retrieved with the assistance of fire department personnel," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.
The police further stated that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem for further details, adding that forensic teams have also been called. They further asserted that a probe is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the drowning.
