Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi: Heavy rain and strong winds altered the weather in Delhi on Thursday afternoon. Showers accompanied by strong winds led to diversions for multiple flights arriving at Delhi Airport. So far, a dozen flights have been diverted. These flights have been instructed to land in Jaipur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh.

In this regard, DIAL has issued an advisory for passengers. Passengers are requested to check flight timings with their respective airlines before departing for the airport.

Delhi-NCR Weather

Delhi-NCR residents witnessed heavy rainfall on Thursday, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. Along with heavy rain, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Fridabad, Gurugram and Sonipat were hit by gusty winds and lightning, reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. Similar weather condition are likely to prevail in the evening.

The weather office has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Delhi on Friday and Saturday. The national capital is expected to experience very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds at speeds of 40-50 km/h, with gusts up to 60 km/h. The sky is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy for the next two days.
