Delhi-NCR Rain: The residents of Delhi-NCR witnessed rainfall on Thursday, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. Along with heavy rain, Noida also received gusty winds and lightning, reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. Apart from the national capital, several parts of nearby cities, including Sonipat, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram witnessed rainfall at around 2 PM. The residents of these cities are expected to witness similar weather condition throughout the day.

Earlier on Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the national capital and nearby regions will witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the next few days. As per the weather department, the weather of several northern states will change with the arrival of monsoon in India.

It asserted that the rain activity in several states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand is likely to intensify on June 6. As per the weather department, the residents are also likely to witness light to moderate rainfall in the night hours of Thursday. While the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be calculated at 38 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 25 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rainfall and gusty winds to avoid inconveniences.

The weather office has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Delhi on Friday and Saturday. The national capital is expected to experience very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds at speeds of 40-50 km/h, with gusts up to 60 km/h. The sky is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy for the next two days.

The IMD also stated that the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala and Tamil Nadu today. The weather department expects significant changes in the weather conditions across most states in the coming days.
