Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala and Tamil Nadu today. The weather department expects significant changes in the weather conditions across most states in the coming days. As per the advisory, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Kerala. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid inconveniences.
As per the weather department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of Kerala over the next five to seven days. The weather department asserted that some regions could record rainfall of up to 20 centimeters, resulting in severe waterlogging. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius.
Delhi is likely to experience some relief from the scorching heat today, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius. As per the weather report, the sky will remain cloudy, and a gentle breeze is expected during the evening and night hours.
The weather in the hilly states is expected to remain pleasant due to a fresh western disturbance, the weather department stated. While some of the districts in Himachal Pradesh are expected to witness hailstorms, heavy rain is likely in the upper parts of Uttarakhand. The tourists have been advised to stay updated and plan their travels accordingly.
However, the residents of Bihar are not likely to get relief from the heat in the next two to three days. The IMD has issued a heatwave alert for multiple districts, adding that rainfall is expected in the state after June 10. It further stated that the western districts of Uttar Pradesh will receive light to moderate rain, providing relief.
