Delhi Airport Flight Status Today Live Updates: IGI Airport Likely To Face Flight Cancellations, Air India Issues Fog Advisory

Delhi Airport Flight Status Today Live Updates: Flight operations at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi are expected to be disrupted on Thursday due to dense fog blanketing the city.
Severe cold gripped large parts of North India on January 1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the cold spell is likely to intensify over the next few days, with a sharp drop in minimum temperatures expected. On the first day of the new year, dense fog covered Delhi-NCR in the morning, reducing visibility to a large extent. Light rain was also recorded at some places.
On Wednesday 148 flights were cancelled, while more than 350 flights were delayed. The 148 cancelled flights included 78 arrivals and 70 departures. Travel advisory was issued for passengers by airlines including - IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet.
On Wednesday morning, the runway visual range at Delhi Airport was recorded between 50 to 100 meters at several locations. Visibility was so low that, despite the state-of-the-art CAT-III landing system installed, flight operations became extremely risky. The situation improved slightly in the afternoon, but by then, flight schedules had been completely disrupted.
