Delhi, Gurugram Weather: As the monsoon continues to be sluggish across India, the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that a variety of weather conditions will prevail across the country on Monday. While heavy rains are forecast for eastern and northeastern India, thunderstorms and severe heat waves in some areas of northwest India could worsen the situation. Monsoon is expected to advance into the remaining parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar in the next few days.
Delhi, Gurugram Weather: Thunderstorm, Rain Alert For Next 2 Hours
The weather in Delhi and surrounding NCR areas is set to change again on Monday. According to meteorologists, a western disturbance and local changes are expected to bring light rain and strong winds, speeding upto 40 to 70 kilometre per hour. This will bring temperatures down and provide relief to the residents from the humid heat.
Rain and thunderstorms are likely to hit Najafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport, Jafarpur, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, and Ayanagar. During the next 2 hours, an alert has been issued for light rain and strong winds in Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Bahadurgarh, Gohana, Gannaur, and Sonipat.

Rajasthan Weather
The weather in Rajasthan is expected to be at its most aggressive today. The IMD has issued a severe thunderstorm alert for eastern and western Rajasthan. Dust-laden winds are expected to blow at speeds of 60 to 70 kilometre per hour, with gusts occasionally reaching 80 kilometre per hour. People have been advised to avoid open spaces.
Northeast India Weather
The northeastern states are expected to receive the heaviest rainfall in the country. The Meteorological Department forecasts torrential rains in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, raising the risk of flooding and landslides in low-lying areas. Heavy rain alerts have also been issued for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
Central India Weather
According to IMD, rain and thunderstorms will continue in Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Lightning and winds of 40 to 50 km/h are expected in Bihar and Jharkhand. Meanwhile, heavy rain warnings are in place for the hilly areas (sub-Himalayan regions) of West Bengal.

Odisha is under a warning for thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of up to 50 to 60 km/h. In addition, winds with speeds of up to 50 to 60 km/h are possible in eastern and western Madhya Pradesh. Lightning and rain are also possible in Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.
Maharashtra Weather
As per IMD, Maharashtra will experience two types of weather. Konkan and Goa will experience humid weather. Meanwhile, Vidarbha and Marathwada will experience a heatwave, for which an alert has been issued. In addition, light rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in Central Maharashtra.
