Delhi Hospital Bomb Threat: The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport along with two Delhi hospitals - Burari Government Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri - received bomb threat emails on Sunday. Delhi Police, Fire Services and Bomb Disposal Teams were rushed to the hospitals soon after the incident came to light. This came days after some Delhi schools received a hoax bomb threat email last month.
The search operation is currently ongoing said Delhi Fire Services officials. However, the police denied finding anything suspicious as yet.
"An email was received at Burari Hospital regarding a bomb threat. Local police and Bomb Disposal Teams (BDT) are at the hospital. Nothing suspicious has been found yet: Delhi Police," ANI reported.
The bomb scare was received in the official email of the Burari Hospital. MD Dr Ashish Goyal received the threat at around 3 pm.
“I have access to the hospital email on my phone. The email said a bomb had been placed in the hospital. I informed the police as soon as I saw it and it appears to be a hoax. Police are investigating the matter,” he was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
Earlier, over 150 schools across Delhi received similar bomb threat emails, triggering mass evacuations and panic among the parents. However, the emails were declared a hoax after Bomb Disposal Units and Police teams carried out extensive search operations.
