Delhi Meerut Expressway Traffic Advisory: In a big update for commuters in the Delhi-NCR region the Delhi-Meerut Expressway will remain partially closed for essential maintenance works being carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
According to report by Jagran.com, two out of a total three lanes will remain closed due to the said maintenance work. The closure would affect traffic movement from Delhi to Ghaziabad and Meerut.
Delhi-Meerut Expressway Traffic Advisory: Closure schedule
The main carriageway (NEP-03) of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway will be closed till June 30. Earlier, the work was carried out on NH-09 but is now going on at NEP-03.

Delhi-Meerut Expressway Traffic Advisory: Timings to avoid
The Delhi Traffic Police have issued an advisory regarding the closure, urging people to avoid using the expressway for travelling towards Ghaziabad and Meerut, especially during peak rush hours from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

The traffic police have also advised to plan journey in advance and allow sufficient time to reach destinations
The Delhi Traffic Police has urged the commuters to use NH-09 (earlier NH-24), instead of the expressway for smoother traffic movement.
According to the advisory, traffic movement on the DME may be slow due to lane restrictions, congestion is likely during evening peak hours and vehicular movement may be regulated as per requirement.
