Delhi CNG Price Hike: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) rates across Delhi-NCR saw another hike on Sunday after prices went up by Re 1 per kg. This is the second time that fuel prices were increased within a week amid the West Asia conflict.

Delhi- NCR CNG Rates

As per the latest revision which has come into effect immediately, CNG in Delhi will now be priced at Rs 80.09 per kg.

For Noida and Ghaziabad consumers, CNG will cost Rs 88.70 per kg.

Earlier on May 15, the CNG rate was hiked by Rs 2 per kg. At that time, the hike had taken CNG prices in Delhi to Rs 79.09 per kg.

Earlier, a Petroleum Ministry official said at the daily inter-ministerial briefing, "All citizens are requested to make efforts to conserve energy in their daily use in the current situation." He added, "Citizens are advised to avoid panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG. Be cautious of rumours and rely on official sources for accurate information."

The ongoing conflict in West Asia has moved beyond the headlines and is now directly impacting the household budgets of the common man in India. Since the conflict began, essential items, ranging from LPG cylinders to petrol and diesel, have become expensive, and there is growing concern that many more items may become expensive in the near future.

Meanwhile, the government on Friday also imposed a windfall gains tax of Rs 3 per litre on the export of petrol while reducing levies on diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF). These revised rates, driven by elevated crude oil prices, came into effect from May 16.

According to the notifications issued by the Finance Ministry, a special additional excise duty (SAED) of Rs 3 per litre has been imposed on the export of petrol for the first time since the start of the West Asia crisis.

At the same time, the government has reduced the levy on the export of diesel to Rs 16.5 per litre, from Rs 23 per litre, while the export duty on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) has been lowered to Rs 16 per litre from Rs 33 per litre.
