Srinagar | Jagran News Desk: Four people, including a two-year-old, were injured in a terrorist attack in the Dangerpora area of Sopore district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

The injured were shifted to a hospital and their condition is slated to be stable, said a Jammu and Kashmir police official.

“In a merciless act of terrorism, terrorists fired and injured four persons including a baby girl, Usma Jan, at Dangerpora village of Sopore,” the Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted.

The Police said that the terrorists barged into Hamidullah Rather's house at Dangerpura in the north Kashmir district as they were upset that he ran his business despite warnings.

Srinagar District Magistrate Shahid Choudhary said efforts are being made to arrange air ambulance to shift the girl to Delhi for advanced medical treatment.

“Baby Asma of 30 months is among the injured in militant attack on fruits merchants in Sopore. She didn't deserve this. We've put in all efforts to get an air ambulance ASAP to take her Delhi for advanced medical attention. Prayers are requested,” he tweeted.

Earlier in a similar incident, some suspected terrorists had opened fire in Srinagar's Parim Pora area in Jammu and Kashmir injuring one civilian.

According to reports, Pakistan is trying to push terrorists into the Kashmir Valley to disrupt peace in the Valley.

“Nothing like that happened although there has been a general strike in the valley since August 5. Despite all the preventive measures taken by us to ensure that public life and property are protected, the credit for ensuring peace goes to the common man in Kashmir who has refused to play into the hands of the separatists,” a top intelligence officer was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
