Ganga Expressway Inauguration: In a major boost to the infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the much-awaited Ganga Expressway. The prime minister will inaugurate the longest expressway of the state at around 11 AM in the Hardoi district. Built at a cost of Rs 36,230 crore, the project will significantly boost the regional connectivity by linking 12 districts. The expressway is set to provide convenience to the residents by cutting the travel time and reducing the traffic congestion.
Along with connecting 12 districts and over 500 villages, the expressway will also boost the financial activities in the state by linking several industrial corridors. While providing details, the officials stated that the process of developing industrial corridors along the expressway will also gain momentum soon.
The expressway will pass through several districts, including Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. The project will improve the connectivity between the eastern and western regions and is expected to cut the travel time from 12 hours to around 8 hours.
They further asserted that one of the most significant feature of the Ganga Expressway is the 3.5-kilometer-long airstrip constructed near Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur. This is the country's first expressway where fighter jets can land during nighttime and emergency situations.

the expressway will link several other corridors, including the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Jewar Link Expressway, and Farrukhabad Link Expressway.
Expressway Network In UP:
- The state will now account for a 60 per cent share of the country's expressway network
- A 1,910-kilometer expressway network has been completed within the state
- The total length will reach 1,973 kilometers following the inauguration of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway in May
- The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is being constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
- The construction of the other expressways was undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA)
