Last year in October, a massive fire broke out at a residential building on Friends Avenue in Shakti Khand 2, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The incident occurred in the densely populated neighbourhood adjoining Delhi. Several fire tenders were immediately rushed to the site to carry out firefighting operations.
Videos shared on social media showed flames rising from the upper floors of the building, with thick smoke visible from a distance.
The fire in Indirapuram came on a night when Ghaziabad witnessed an unusually high number of fire incidents due to Diwali celebrations. According to Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal, as many as 48 fire incidents, both major and minor, were reported across the district between 6 AM on Diwali morning and 6 AM the next day.
