The Ahmedabad Police arrested a man who sent bomb threat emails to GUJSAIL (Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Ltd) at Ahmedabad Airport and schools in March. According to police, the accused, identified as Bhavesh Patel (40), had also threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Cyber Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Lavina Sinha said the accused is a resident of Ahmedabad, who was held after a probe traced the threatening emails to an account allegedly operated by him. However, the accused's demand to release a jailed hacker remains a mystery for the police.

Earlier, on March 25, the director of the airport-based GUJSAIL received an email threatening to bomb the complex. The same email also threatened to kill the prime minister and the home minister. The GUJSEL director filed a complaint with the Ahmedabad police.

The Accused Holds Events At Ahmedabad Airport

Cyber Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sinha, stated that when police searched Google for information about the sender, they found that the email address was Bhavesh4518@gmail.com, located in Ahmedabad. The email was sent by Bhavesh Patel, who works in event management at Ahmedabad Airport and may have had a dispute with the airport administration.

Police are investigating the motive behind the threatening email. Investigating officer Mittal Bhateria said the accused had demanded the release of Saurabh Biswas in the email. Saurabh is a hacker and is currently in judicial custody in Sabarmati Jail for providing the email address used to send the threatening email. Police have launched an investigation into the matter and are also probing the relationship between Saurabh and Bhavesh.

Police sought his remand to further probe the motive behind the threats, possible links with other individuals, and any potential association with terrorist organisations or anti-national groups.

Investigators seized a mobile phone from Patel that reportedly contained the email ID used to send the threats.
