The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone is set to roll out a new Amrit Bharat Express today, marking the inaugural journey of the train connecting Guwahati (Kamakhya) with Rohtak. Designed to provide a cost-effective and comfortable travel option, the service will enhance long-distance rail connectivity across Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, the Guwahati (Kamakhya)-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express and the Dibrugarh-Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) Amrit Bharat Express, during his two-day visit to Assam. These new train services will strengthen rail connectivity between the Northeast and northern India, enabling safer and more convenient travel for people.

Guwahati-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express: Inaugural Run Details

The Kamakhya-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express will make its inaugural journey on January 18, operating as special train number 05671. The train will connect the Northeast to northern India, passing through major stations such as New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barauni, Chhapra, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Delhi before reaching Rohtak.

On its first run, the special service will halt at 29 stations across Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana. These include Rangiya, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Katihar, Naugachia, Mansi, Khagaria, Begusarai, Barauni, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Ballia, Ghazipur City, Aunrihar, Varanasi, Gyanpur Road, Prayagraj Rambag, Prayagraj Junction, Govindpuri, Tundla, Ghaziabad, Delhi Junction and Bahadurgarh.

Guwahati (Kamakhya)-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express: Inaugural Schedule And Timing

Train number 05671 will depart Kamakhya at 11:00 am on January 18 and reach Rohtak at 4:00 am on the third day. En route, it will halt at major junctions including Barauni, Chhapra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Delhi and Ghaziabad, following a detailed timetable spread over nearly three days of travel.

The new route links several prominent cultural and tourist centres. It begins near the revered Kamakhya Temple in Assam and runs through destinations such as Varanasi, known for the Ganga ghats and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, and Prayagraj, home to the Sangam and the Kumbh Mela. The train also passes through New Jalpaiguri, a key access point to Darjeeling’s tea gardens and wildlife reserves, while covering culturally rich regions of Bihar along the Ganga belt.
