A woman allegedly killed her three-year-old son after he caught her having sexual relations with the neighbour in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on April 28. The accused, Jyoti Rathore, was involved in an extramarital affair with her neighbour Uday Indauliya.
The incident took place on April 28 when Jyoti’s husband, Dhyan Singh, who is a police constable, organised the inauguration of his plastic shop. Many people along with Uday were invited to the event. While everyone was busy, Jyoti and Uday went to the terrace. Jyoti’s son also followed his mother to the terrace where he witnessed the two in a compromising position.Fearing that the boy would disclose the affair to her husband, Jyoti threw him off the terrace. The toddler suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to a hospital immediately where he died the next day on April 29.
At first, everyone assumed that the deceased had fallen from the terrace by mistake. However, after a few days, Jyoti started having nightmares about her son, leading her to confess her crime to her husband.
Dhyan Singh then recorded her confession and went to the police. A case was registered against Jyoti and Uday, and the police arrested the duo.
In another incident, a 28-year-old woman and her live-in partner allegedly murdered her four-year-old physically challenged son in Pune’s Modnimb village in Solapur district in September. The incident came to light in August when the sister of the accused asked her about her son’s whereabouts and filed a police complaint.
"The woman told the complainant that she was staying with the man at Modnimb. When asked her about her son, the latter revealed that her live-in partner had throttled him to death about a month ago at a construction site," said an officer as quoted by Times of India
