Himachal Fire: Six members of the same family were charred to death after a fire broke out at a house in the wee hours on Thursday in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district. The deceased include Kavita Devi, wife of Lokendra Singh, Sarika (9), Kritika (3), Tripta Devi (44), and Naresh Kumar, jagran.com reported. SDM Sangdah Sunil Kumar has arrived at the scene.

BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, State President Dr Rajiv Bindal, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, MP Suresh Kashyap, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shanta Kumar have expressed deep condolences over the incident.

Short Circuit Likely The Reason Behind Fire

According to the information received, this incident occurred at Mohan Lal's house and the initial cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit.

The LPG cylinder exploded in the fire, burning down the entire house to ashes. Some domestic animals were also reportedly burned alive. One person was rescued with injuries and referred to Rajgarh Hospital.

The BJP leadership has urged the district administration to ensure prompt provision of all possible assistance, adequate compensation, and relief and rehabilitation to the affected family. The party stands firmly with the affected family in this hour of grief.

Earlier, three people, including an eight-year-old child, died in a major fire that broke out in the Old Bus Stand area of the Arki market in the Solan district, police said.

The fire, which broke out late Sunday night, destroyed several shops and buildings. All three of the dead were Nepalese nationals hailing from Salyan in the Karnali province of Nepal.

The blaze originated from a wooden building and spread rapidly to adjacent structures. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed sorrow over the incident and had instructed the deputy commissioner to initiate immediate relief and rescue efforts.

Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that considerable damage had been caused to 10 to 15 shops and houses. Additionally, he informed that some locals from Nepal are missing and a search is underway to locate them.
