Himachal Municipal Corporation Election Result Highlights: BJP Wins Big, Sweeps Dharamshala, Mandi, Solan; Congress Retains Palampur

Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajeev Bindal said, "People of Himachal Pradesh have voted against the misrule of the Congress government. The anti-youth, anti-women and anti-farmer policies of the government have been rejected by the electorate." 

According to the State Election Commission (SEC) of Himachal Pradesh, the BJP has secured 12 wards in Mandi, 10 in Solan, and 11 in Dharamshala. Meanwhile, the Congress has secured a decisive victory in Palampur, winning 11 out of 15 wards.

Himachal Local Body Poll Results Live: Himachal BJP president Rajeev Bindal said that the results of municipal corporation elections in the state confirm that people have lost faith in the ruling Congress.

"People of Himachal Pradesh have voted against the misrule of the Congress government. The anti-youth, anti-women and anti-farmer policies of the government have been rejected by the electorate," Bindal said.

The results for Zila Parishad Ward No. 4 Sohari in Una district have been announced, with BJP-backed candidate Yograj Yogi securing a decisive victory. He defeated his closest rival Vishal Singh by a margin of 1,547 votes. Yograj polled 7,793 valid votes, while Vishal Singh secured 6,246 votes.

The BJP put up a strong performance in the local body elections, securing victories in both the Bharmour and Pangi blocks. In Pangi, the party won eight of the nine wards, while in Bharmour it emerged victorious in 10 wards, consolidating its position in the two tribal blocks.

Bimla Devi is the winner for the Panchayat Samiti member election from the Palchan Ward of the Naggar Block. He bagged 853 votes. 

Congress candidates won 11 out of 15 seats in the Palampur Municipal Corporation. BJP candidates won four seats. The Congress is certain to elect the mayor and deputy mayor.

In Solan Municipal Corporation, former BJP Deputy Mayor Meera Anand lost from Ward 13, former Congress Mayor from Ward 8 and Usha Sharma, who contested as an independent from Ward 12 after not getting the ticket from Congress, lost the election.

Congress-backed candidate won the Panchayat Samiti Ward-3 (Tingret) in Lahaul-Spiti by a margin of 129 votes. 

The results of 10 seats of Palampur Municipal Corporation have come, in which Congress has won 9 seats, while BJP has got one seat.

Shishu Pal Sharma has won from the Bagi ward, ward No. 2, Kalbog (Kotkhai).

BJP-backed Raveena registered win in Lahaul-Spiti for the Panchayat Samiti from Ward-1, Tindi. Raveena got 352 votes.

In Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, BJP won 11 out of 17 seats, Congress won 5 and one seat was won by an independent.

In the Solan Municipal Corporation, the BJP won six of the eight seats. The Congress and an independent each won one seat.

BJP candidate Jani won from ward number 11 Samkheter of Municipal Corporation Mandi, BJP candidate won from ward number 15 Dohndi.

From ward number one of Solan Municipal Corporation, Congress's Archana Thakur won with 186 votes and BJP's Neelam won with 299 votes.

In Dharamshala, a former mayor and deputy mayor were defeated. Both were contesting as independents. One was from Ward 3 and the other from Ward 6.

BJP's Gurdeep Kaur declared winner from Palace One ward of Mandi Municipal Corporation by 278 votes.

BJP candidates won all five seats in the Mandi Municipal Corporation in the second round, with the BJP tally reaching eight out of ten.

The BJP is ahead in the first round of vote counting for the Solan Municipal Corporation elections. The BJP is leading in five wards, while BJP rebels are ahead in two. Congress has only taken a lead in two wards. The BJP is leading in a majority of the 17 wards.

The BJP won six of the eight wards in the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, while the Congress won two seats.

In Dharamshala, former mayor Neenu Sharma won from Ward 4, receiving 608 votes. BJP candidate Neha received 249 votes, and an independent candidate received 112 votes.

BJP candidates won from Ward 6 and 7 of Dharamshala Municipal Corporation.

Congress candidate Ranjit Kaur won the election from Municipal Corporation Palampur Ward-3 Palampur Khas.

In Dharamshala Municipal Corporation's Ward 5, Congress's Shailja won with 643 votes, while BJP's Aruna Kumari secured 405 votes.

In Dharamshala Municipal Corporation's Ward 3, BJP's Asha won with 368 votes. Congress's Sudarshan Kumari got 254 votes.

In Dharamshala Municipal Corporation Ward 2, Bhagsu, Congress candidate Ashok Pathania received 231 votes, BJP candidate Shamsher Nehria received 676 votes, and independent candidate Omkar Singh received 422 votes. The BJP won.

Congress candidate Indrapal won the Palampur Municipal Corporation election from Ward 1, Lohna. Indrapal received 858 votes, a margin of nearly 200 votes.

BJP's Rekha won in Farsetganj Ward No. 1 of the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation. In the women's ward, Congress candidate Himanshi received 216 votes, while BJP candidate Rekha received 263. Nine people voted NOTA.

In Mandi, Congress's Narmada Mohan won from ward number 4 by 127 votes.
