A 26-year-old man was killed on Holi after a minor argument over a splash of water escalated into extreme violence in Delhi's Uttam Nagar. To date, four adults have been arrested alongside one minor. The confrontation began after water was accidentally splashed on a woman during the festive celebrations.
The deceased has been identified as Tarun, a resident of Uttam Nagar who lived with his family and was enrolled in a digital marketing course.
How Did The Matter Escalate
The incident began when an 11-year-old girl, playing on a terrace, threw a water balloon at her father standing below. Some of the water accidentally splashed a woman from a neighbouring family. Although the girl’s family apologised, the woman reportedly became enraged, called upon her relatives, and initiated a heated argument.
While the matter initially appeared to have been resolved, Tarun—a relative of the girl—was later ambushed while returning home on his motorbike. A group of approximately 15 to 20 people blocked his path and assaulted him with iron rods, bricks, and stones. Tarun succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment.
DCP Kushal Pal Singh stated that the two groups belonged to different communities originally from Rajasthan. Delhi’s Dwarka police have registered a case against four adults and apprehended a juvenile. Other individuals injured during the scuffle are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

In a separate case, one man was killed and his friend severely injured during a group attack. The violence reportedly broke out after a man allegedly used abusive language during a video call. When others objected, the situation escalated, leading to an assault on Nepal Ram and his companion.
Furthermore, in Kanjhawala, a 36-year-old driver named Vikas Sharma died after being attacked by two minors following a scuffle.
