Holi Turns Horrific: Nagpur Grandmother Pours Boiling Water On 4-Year-Old For Splashing Her With Colour | Watch

Amid celebrations of Holi across India, where people joyfully smeared each other with abir-gulal (colours), a disturbing incident has surfaced from Nagpur. A child was allegedly scalded after his grandmother poured boiling water on him when he threw colour on her during the festivities, leaving the boy with burn injuries.

The incident occurred in the Koradi area of Nagpur. A 4-year-old boy was playing with a spray bottle filled with colour outside his home when he accidentally splashed his grandmother Sindhu Thackeray, who was filling a bucket with water heated on Holi wood.

Child Suffers 45% Burns

A grandmother allegedly became furious over the incident and poured boiling water on the child, causing severe burns. The boy sustained burns on nearly 45 per cent of his body and was immediately rushed to a private hospital for urgent treatment. Doctors are cmonitoring his condition. The police have begun the process of registering a case against the woman and have started an investigation into the matter.

Video Goes Viral On Social Media

According to news agency PTI, the incident occurred on March 3 in Ward No. 2 of the Aramshin area and was captured on CCTV. The video is going viral on social media. As the child's grandmother pours hot water on him, the child screams loudly and runs away. Just then, another woman brings cold water and pours it over the child to ease his pain.

In another unrelated incident in Nagupur, 15 people were killed, and 18 persons sustained critical injuries following an explosion at SBL Energy Limited on Sunday.

Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) Harssh Poddar confirmed the casualties and said that the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The explosion occurred at the premises of SBL Energy Limited under the Nagpur Rural police jurisdiction.
