After marriage, many women choose to update their surname on official documents such as Aadhaar and PAN cards. This process can be completed easily from home using a mobile phone. Here’s the step-by-step process of changing your name on both Aadhaar and PAN cards.
How To Change Your Name In PAN card
-First of all, go to the website of NSDL or UTIITSL.
-Now click on the option of Changes/Correction in PAN.
-After this you will have to enter some basic details here like PAN number, name, date of birth and email.
-Now a 15 digit token number will be generated for you.
-Then select the details you want to change and correct them.
-After this, upload documents like address proof, proof of date of birth, photo etc.
-Finally you have to pay the fees and submit it.
-Finally, don't forget to download the acknowledgement slip. You can check your status later using this slip.
How To Change Name In Aadhaar?
Step 1- First of all you have to go to the official website of UIDAI.
Step 2- Then go to the My Aadhaar option and enter your Aadhaar number and OTP.

Step 3- After which you will get the option of Update Aadhaar here.
Step 4- Then you will find the option to update your name. Click on it.
Step 5- Now submit the requested details and documents like marriage certification.
Step 6- After which, you will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 50. Non-refundable means
You will not get this money back.
Step 7- Finally, review the entered details and documents and click on the submit button.
Note down your SRN number (Service Request Number) on a piece of paper. This number will help you check your status later. Status check here means you can find out when the new information you entered will be reflected in your Aadhaar card.
