The mysterious death of newlywed Akriti Sutar, a resident of the NDMC flats in Palika Kunj, Lodhi Colony, has taken a new turn after investigators found that she had searched on Google hours before her death, asking whether a fall from the second floor could be fatal.
Family Raises Questions
Police have registered an FIR for dowry death and arrested Akriti's husband, Aristotle Sikka. Her body was found inside the Palika Kunj complex at around 9 pm on Saturday. Her family has questioned how she reached the society, claiming that she had no connection to the area.
Google Searches, CCTV footage
According to police sources, Akriti searched on Google at 2:22 pm on Saturday, asking whether a person could die after falling from the second floor. Her search history also reportedly included the query, ‘How to die easily’ in May.
Investigators said Akriti travelled on the Yellow Line Metro from Saket to Lodhi Colony. CCTV footage allegedly shows her entering the society alone.
Married On April 24
According to reports, Akriti and Aristotle Sikka had a love marriage on April 24 this year. A video from their wedding has also surfaced, in which she appears happy.
Her family has claimed that within a few days of their wedding, her husband had started beating her and taunted her that she did not bring any dowry. The family further claimed that it was due to alleged torture, Akriti stopped attending the office for a few days, then later resumed it on July 1.

Last Call To Her Mother
According to the family, Akriti called her mother on the evening of July 4 and said she had reached the metro station near her home. However, her phone was switched off shortly afterwards.
Her mother has rejected the possibility of suicide, alleging that Akriti could never have searched for ways to end her life. The family has claimed that Aristotle Sikka frequently controlled her phone and suspects he may have planned her murder.
