Bharat Tiwari Encounter: Bihar Cyber Police Crack Down On 30 Social Media Accounts Over Alleged Fake Posts, AI Content

Following the Bharat Bhushan Tiwari encounter in Bihar's Bhojpur, the cyber police have intensified action against the circulation of objectionable, misleading and inflammatory content on social media. In connection with the case, an FIR has been registered at the Ara Cyber Police Station against around 30 social media user IDs and content creators.

The FIR alleges that videos and posts containing objectionable and abusive language targeting senior police officials and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary were shared online.

Although the FIR does not explicitly mention the encounter, it is believed that the action is linked to the incident. Police are identifying the individuals behind the user IDs and initiating legal proceedings against them.

Authorities have also begun the process of removing the objectionable posts from social media platforms and blocking the concerned user accounts.

Earlier, the Ara Cyber Police had also registered an FIR against Uttar Pradesh resident Deepak Dixit for allegedly issuing death threats. With the latest case, two FIRs have now been filed by the Ara Cyber Police in connection with the matter.

Social Media Accounts Under Scanner

According to police sources, cyber monitoring led to the identification of several social media accounts and content creators who allegedly shared videos and posts containing objectionable and abusive remarks against senior police officials and Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other online platforms.

The FIR states that the posts were aimed at spreading hatred and resentment against the police and the Bihar government. It also alleges that fake photos and videos were created using AI technology.

Police further alleged that incidents from other states were falsely presented as incidents from Bhojpur and Bihar to mislead and provoke the public. Officials said all such misleading and objectionable user IDs have been identified, and legal action has been initiated against them.

The police have appealed to the public not to share unverified, misleading or fake content and to use social media responsibly.
