The ongoing internal dispute in the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGPC) has now reached the court of the Sikhs' supreme religious body, Sri Akal Takht Sahib. HSGPC founder Jagdish Singh Jhinda reached the Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat on Monday. Handing over a detailed letter to Singh Sahib, he demanded a resolution to the dispute currently plaguing the committee.
Allegations Of Personal Interest And Discord
Speaking to journalists, Jagdish Singh Jhinda stated that he struggled for 22 years to achieve a separate Gurdwara committee for Haryana, even staking his business in the process, but today some people are using this institution for personal interests. Directly targeting Baljit Singh Daduwal, he alleged that he is continuously creating discord within the Haryana Committee.
Accusations Of Indecent Behavior
Jhinda alleged that Daduwal behaved indecently with members during committee meetings and even used abusive language regarding mothers and sisters, which does not befit a religious leader.
Financial Irregularities
He also made serious allegations regarding financial matters. According to Jhinda, no clear account has been provided for the funds worth crores of rupees collected in the name of religious propagation from 2014 to 2026. He alleged that this money was used to purchase private lands, buy expensive cars, and deposit money into private bank accounts, whereas this amount should have been deposited in the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Committee's account.
Committee Action And Appeal For Justice
Jhinda informed that, angered by these activities, 33 members of the HSGPC have passed a resolution cancelling Baljit Singh Daduwal's membership and his chairmanship of the Dharam Prachar Committee. Handing over all records in this regard to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, he demanded strict action.
He appealed to the Jathedar Sahib to intervene in this matter and relieve the Sikh community of Haryana from this prolonged dispute. Jhinda stated that the Akal Takht Sahib is the supreme court of the Sikhs and he has full faith that justice will be delivered here. Additionally, he appealed to the Sikh organizations of Punjab to call back such persons to their region so that the management of Gurdwaras in Haryana can run smoothly.
