Authorities in Hyderabad seized nearly 3,900 kg of dairy items during a joint inspection by the police commissioner’s task force and the Food Safety Office. The stock - comprising paneer, khoa, white cream, ghee, and kalakhand was valued at approximately Rs 11.11 lakh.
The inspection, carried out in Ganj Bazar near the Mahankali temple, also led to the arrest of six individuals accused of distributing adulterated milk products to catering services and hotels across the city.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jaipal Singh Rajpurohit, Kolariya Vaibhav, Naresh Kolariya, Prem Anil Vyas, Ram Kishore Kolariya and Laxmi Narayana Kolariaya.

In a post on X, the Hyderabad Police said that the establishments were allegedly engaged in procuring and selling adulterated and unhygienic paneer and other dairy products sourced from unknown origins.
The products were being sold in bulk quantities to catering services, hotels, and customers at approximately Rs 280 per kg, falsely projecting them as quality paneer.
The inspection revealed that the paneer and other dairy items were stored in open plastic covers, exposed to dust, flies, and contaminants, making them unsafe for human consumption.
Further, the seized products lacked proper labeling, including brand name, manufacturing date, expiry date, and pest control records, indicating serious violations of food safety standards.
Earlier, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India had seized large quantities of adulterated food in parts of Rajasthan and Jharkhand. Inspections revealed that the seized products pose serious health risks for the consumers. The raids were made by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India to restrain the illegal supply of adulterated foods.
According to a video shared by the FSSAI on March 14, Rajasthan's Food Safety Department busted a large-scale operation that involved expired packaged food products. The team seized 1.5 lakh kilograms of expired items, including noodles, sauces, and mayonnaise. The inspections were conducted at storage facilities and distribution points.
