IMD Predicts Onset Of Monsoon In Andaman Sea By May 19
The IMD has forecast the likely advancement of rain into the South Andaman Sea, parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal, and the Nicobar Islands by May 19. The forecast shows the timely arrival of monsoon in the region. The monsoon is advancing, with a cyclonic circulation over South Interior Karnataka and a trough extending to north-west central.
Meteorologists view these conditions as favourable for the monsoon. The heat in the country’s interior during May is expected to facilitate the monsoon’s speed and direction. The Southwest Monsoon is anticipated to make its way into the Andaman Sea, parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Nicobar Islands within the next three to four days.
