As the INDIA bloc held a rally in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, two empty chairs-one each for jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand chief Minister Hemant Soren - were kept on stage. The rally was organised mainly by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). While leaders of the INDIA bloc held rally, the BJP attacked the Opposition's alliance questioning their unity.

Delhi CM's wife and former bureaucrat Sunita Kejriwal also addressed the rally, where she alleged that there was a conspiracy to kill CM Kejriwal. She also said that Kejriwal has "no desire" for power and he just wants to serve the nation and bring it to the first position in the world. Sunita Kejriwal alleged that the Delhi Chief Minister, who suffers from Type 2 diabetes, is not being allowed insulin in jail while claiming that he has been taking it for the last 12 years.

Empty Chairs For Jailed Kejriwal And Hemant Soren In Rally

Though chairs for the JMM executive president and AAP supremo were kept empty, their wives Kalpana Soren and Sunita Kejriwal were seated on the dais. They are apparently set for their larger political role following the arrest of their spouses. The crowd raised slogans like "Jail ka tala tutega, Hemant Soren chutega" (The jail lock will be broken, Hemant Soren will be released) and "Jharkhand Jhukega Nahi" (Jharkhand will not bow down)."

BJP Attacks INDIA Bloc

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday took a swipe at the leaders of the INDIA bloc after a video shared by PTI showed a clash among the leaders.

"In the INDI Alliance rally in Ranchi today, the workers of RJD and Congress hit each other with chairs... We had already been saying that this is an alliance of personal gains. There are clashes and people are getting injured. Where is their unity? How will they unite the country when they are not united?" he said.

 

The BJP leader further said that the INDIA alliance has no vision, adding that there is only confusion, ambition, and politics of division.

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawala said, "Workers of RJD, Congress and other parties attacked each other with lathi and stones... If this is their character for seat sharing even before coming to power, then what kind of 'jungle raj' will they bring if they come to power."
