Adding another historic chapter to its military might, India has successfully tested the medium-range ballistic missile 'Agni-4' on Thursday. The test was conducted under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. According to defense sources, the missile met all its technical and operational standards with 100 per cent success.
Ministry of Defence, Government of India, in an X post, said, "India successfully test-fired the Medium Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM) Agni-4 from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha on August 06, 2026. The launch, conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, successfully validated all operational and technical parameters."
Key Features Of The Agni Missile
Agni-4 is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. It features a fifth-generation onboard computer and advanced avionics. Its most significant feature is that if an obstacle is encountered during flight, the missile can automatically identify it and correct its course. This is why it is considered one of India's most reliable strategic missiles.
In addition, the missile utilises special navigation systems (RINS and MINGS). Agni-4 hits its target with pinpoint accuracy without any error. Defense experts believe that this accuracy significantly enhances India's defense and strategic capabilities.

Even 4000 Degree Celsius Fire Is Ineffective
In addition to all these strengths, Agni-4 missile has another unique feature that makes it capable of terrifying India's enemies. When the missile returns after entering enemy territory, it generates intense heat. The 're-entry heat shield' fitted to Agni-4 demonstrated its remarkable ability, easily withstanding extreme temperatures of up to 4000 degrees Celsius.
Surprisingly, despite such a fierce fire on its outer surface, the sensitive equipment inside the missile remained completely safe, and the internal temperature remained below 50 degrees Celsius.
Strike Range Over 3,000 Km
It is worth noting that India already possesses missiles like Agni-1, Agni-2, Agni-3, and Prithvi. The successful test of Agni-4 further strengthens the country's strike capability to exceed 3,000 kilometers, making India's defense system even more invincible.
