IndiGo Flight Status Today Live Updates: Compensation For Flights Cancelled Within 24 Hours To Cost Rs 500 Cr To Airline

4 flights have been announced to be cancelled from Coimbatore Airport on Saturday, December 12. These flights were interlinking with Coimbatore being the stoppage. 

In a notification shared on X, the Chandigarh airport informed that three IndiGo flights out of Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh (IXC) have been cancelled.

As the airline continues to focus on restoring its operations and compensating passengers who were badly affected by the flight cancellations, IndiGo, as of Friday, operated more than 2,000 daily flights. 

According to a statement by the operational crisis-hit, India’s largest domestic airline, Indigo, on Friday, the company will have to compensate nearly Rs 500 crore to customers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours. 

The following IndiGo departures from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh (IXC) have been cancelled for tomorrow, December 13.

The airline shared a status highlighting the stabilization of the flight operations:

• 2050+ flights expected to operate today

• Operations have stabilised since 9 December 2025

• On-time performance back to IndiGo standards

• All 138 destinations in the network are now connected

"Chief Aviation Advisors LLC, led by Captain John Illson, veteran aviation expert, to conduct an independent expert review and assessment of the recent operational disruption and the contributing factors," the airline said in a statement, quoted PTI. Earlier, the board of InterGlobe Aviation, the parent of IndiGo, set up a crisis management group in the wake of significant operational disruptions that started on December 2.

IndiGo’s operations at Bhavnagar Airport have now returned to normal as per officials.

According to the news agency, PTI, the IndiGo board has appointed an external aviation expert to carry out a root cause analysis of the massive crisis that the company faced.

Fair business regulator the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is examining whether IndiGo violated competition norms, a senior official told PTI.

On Friday, IndiGo cancelled over 50 flights from Bengaluru Airport as the disruptions entered the 11th day.

On Friday, DGCA suspended four flight operations inspectors linked with the IndiGo flight delays and cancellations, reported PTI quoting sources. Flight operations inspectors (FOIs) oversee airline safety, pilot training and operational compliance.

“The disruptions in aviation that has happened in last few days, Indigo has a major share in aviation industry in the country, the cancellations, rerouting, schedule change have negatively impacted, not only tourism in Kashmir was affected, but everywhere in the country. People plan for trip beforehand, such sudden disruptions made them distressed, all the stakeholders of tourism got affected. The tourism industry is already distressed in Kashmir with the Pahalgam attack, there was a revival, but with this, it was impacted again… We are hoping against hope for revival in situation with the help of government," Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) President Ahmad Tramboo told PTI.

All flights from Tuticorin Airport are operating as per schedule, as confirmed by the airlines.

On Thursday, over 200 flights were cancelled across major airports in India, even as IndiGo projected that it would operate around 1,950 flights carrying nearly 3 lakh passengers. Veteran aviator Captain Gopinath told PTI that IndiGo’s flight delays and cancellations spiraled into chaos as the airline may have allowed “too much arrogance and too much of self-confidence” to creep in, ultimately failing to ‘read the tea leaves’ as the situation unfolded.

On Friday, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers will be meeting a special 4-member Committee of the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation). The committee is tasked to examine IndiGo's flight disruptions.

In a major update, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that IndiGo did not hire pilots for the last six months.

IndiGo has confirmed that the Rs 10,000 voucher can be used for any future flight with the airline, and the voucher will remain valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.

Aviation watchdog DGCA on Thursday stepped up scrutiny of the crisis-hit IndiGo with its officials stationing themselves at the carrier's headquarters to monitor the operations and CEO Pieter Elbers being grilled by an inquiry panel on a day when the airline announced a compensation of Rs 10,000 in the form of travel vouchers to affected passengers.

IndiGo, on its part, said it is expected to operate 1,950 flights carrying around 3 lakh passengers, while airports reported flight cancellations. Over 200 flights were cancelled at Delhi and Bangalore airports on Thursday, according to PTI. The civil aviation ministry has also directed the airline, which generally operates around 2,300 flights, to reduce its winter schedule by 10 per cent.

Crisis-hit IndiGo has cancelled 60 flights from Bengaluru Airport, a source told News agency PTI, even as the airline announced its plans to operate more than 1,950 flights on Thursday under scrutiny from the DGCA following large-scale disruptions in services on account of planning failures related to the implementation of new pilot and crew duty norms.

Aviation watchdog DGCA has summoned IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers to appear before it again on Friday amid ongoing flight disruptions, as cited by PTI sources. The meeting comes after continued concerns over the airline's operational issues and delays.

IndiGo has confirmed that it is processing all passenger refund requests with urgency. To track your refund, follow these steps:

Two officers from the DGCA office - a senior statistics officer and a deputy director - will be deployed at the IndiGo corporate office to monitor the status of domestic and international cancellations, refund status, on-time performance, compensation to the passengers as per the civil aviation requirement and baggage return, as per a DGCA order issued on Wednesday.

IndiGo authorities have directed it to reduce winter schedule flights by 10 per cent to stabilise its operations. The carrier was operating around 2,300 flights a day till the disruptions began on December 2.

IndiGo has announced that it will offer travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to 'severely impacted customers'. IndiGo added that the vouchers can be used by passenger for any journey in future, valid for the next 12 months.

IndiGo on Thursday said it will offer Rs 10,000 as compensation to each passenger whose flights were cancelled or delayed for long during December 3-5, news agency PTI reported.

DGCA has directed crisis-ridden IndiGo's Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers to appear at its office on Thursday and submit a complete report, along with comprehensive data and updates, relating to the recent operational disruptions.

Elbers has been asked to appear at the DGCA office at 3 pm. DGCA also said that the CEO, along with senior officials from all relevant departments, has been instructed to attend the meeting.

On Thursday, a total of 4 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Tripura's Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport (MBB).

On Thursday, Srinagar airport saw 4 IndiGo cancellations.

On Thursday, IndiGo cancelled 77 flights at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). These included  39 departures and 38 arrivals.

“A total of 4 Indigo Movements 6E-2314/6604 (DEL-DIB-DEL) 6E-524/525 (IXA-DIB-IXA)are cancelled as per current update at Dibrugarh Airport on 11.12.2025. On Thursday, 3 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Ranchi Airport due to operational reasons. These include:

On Thursday, Varanasi airport saw 8 IndiGo flight cancellations, reported SA News Uttar Pradesh.

As per PTI, IndiGo cancelled 220 flights from across major airports, including Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, with Delhi seeing the most cancellations at 137.

DGCA has decided to constitute an Oversight Team of eight members in view of passenger inconvenience caused due to large-scale disruptions in the operations of IndiGo Airlines at various airports across India.

Members include Capt. Kapil Mangalik, SFOI(A); Capt VP Singh, SFOI(A); Capt. Apoorva Agarwal, SFOI(A); Capt. Swati Loomba, SFOI(A) , Capt. Aman Suhag, SFOI(A); Capt. Nitya Jain, FOI(A) ,Capt NJ Singh, FOI(A).

“No same day cancellations for last 3 days, (other than negligible cancellations due to weather, technical, other external or uncontrollable factors), on‑time performance (OTP) back to IndiGo standards,” IndiGo statement said.

IndiGo also stated that it is expecting to operate over 1,950 flights on Thursday with approximately 300,000 customers.

IndiGo flights at Amritsar's Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport began returning to normal on Thursday. IndiGo flights arrived in Amritsar ahead of schedule, bringing a sigh of relief to passengers. Four flights have landed so far, while another is scheduled to arrive in the afternoon. 

Bhubaneswar Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan stated that normalcy has returned at the airport. "For the last few days, there was a mass-scale disruption of IndiGo flights, but now we are returning to normal operations. There are some planned cancellations, and we are informing passengers and other stakeholders. There is no chaos at the airport now. We urge people to check before coming for their flights to avoid any hassle. We have also published control room numbers that are available 24/7," Prasanna Pradhan told ANI.

On Thursday, all IndiGo flights were operational from Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur amid ongoing crisis at airports in major cities across India, PTI reported.

On Thurday, 18 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, ANI reported citing airport official. The cancellations included 9 arrivals and 9 departures.

According to the new 12-page order, any scheduled flight delayed by 15 minutes or more due to technical reasons will now be subject to mandatory investigation. According to the new order, the airline will be required to explain the cause of the delay and how it was rectified.

The Tiruchirappalli International Airport said all their IndiGo flight operations have resumed. "All indigo flight operations resumed. Trichy Airport remains committed to safe and smooth travel," the airport posted on X.

The flight disruptions come at a time when year-end fares on major domestic routes from Bhubaneswar are unusually high. As of this morning, ticket prices for the period from December 11 to December 31 were as follows:

Airport officials said that flights on Bhubaneswar-Kolkata, Bhubaneswar-Dehradun, Bhubaneswar-Chennai, Bhubaneswar-Goa, Bhubaneswar-Mumbai, Bhubaneswar-Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar-Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar-New Delhi routes for Thursday have been cancelled for the day.

On Thursday, 6 IndiGo flights were cancelled at the Coimbatore International Airport. These include:

On Thursday morning, 60 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Bengaluru's Kempegowda airport, a statement from the airport said. These included 32 arrival cancellations and 28 departures. 

India's IndiGo informed that it has reduced its capacity and passenger unit revenue forecast for the third quarter, after the civil aviation regulator directed the carrier to cut 10 per cent of its domestic winter schedule following mass flight cancellations.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that the central government is maintaining strict, real-time oversight through the Ministry’s Control Room, adding that the operations have been stabilised.

"Even as Indigo operations across the country have stabilised, we continue to closely oversee the operations through the Ministry’s Control Room. A regular vigil is being maintained for real-time resolution of passenger grievances and the Control Room team is making all efforts to further enhance response time for prompt and effective redressal of passenger concerns. Passengers facing any issue may seek assistance by tagging @MoCA_GoI on X, contacting the Ministry’s Control Room at 011-24604283 / 011-24632987 or by registering their grievance on the AirSewa App/Web Portal," Ram Mohan Naidu posted on X on Wednesday.

Last week, several IndiGo flight cancellations and significant delays caused chaos at the airport and anger among passengers. In response, additional staff were deployed on Wednesday and real-time monitoring of every flight was initiated.

On Thursday, two members from the DGCA's Oversight Team will be deployed at IndiGo Corporate office in Gurugram on daily basis and they will look into following areas - total fleet, average stage length, total number of pilots, network details, crew utilisation in hours, monthly/daily, dead heading (DH for flight duty), crew under training, split duties, all unplanned leaves per day (like Sick leave, casual leave and emergency leave), flights per day and available crew, total number of sectors affected on account of crew shortage, standby crew per day and per base (cockpit and cabin).

Wednesday brought relief for Chandigarh Airport. Putting behind the uncertainties of the past few days, all 30 IndiGo flights operated on time. No flights were cancelled or delayed. Airport operations remained smooth and normal from morning until night, bringing relief to passengers.

IndiGo announced the cancellation of four of its major flights on Thursday, December 11, 2025. These include Flight 5261 to Mumbai, Flight 6634 to Bengaluru, Flight 6254 to Hyderabad, and Flight 760 to Delhi.

IndiGo chairman Vikram Singh Mehta has made a statement regarding the flight disruptions over the past week. He addressed allegations like - "Indigo engineered the crisis” and “tried to influence government rules” and termed them false.

"That we compromised safety. That the Board was not involved. These claims are incorrect,” Mehta said in a video message on X.

“Indigo has followed the pilot fatigue rules as they came into effect. We operated under the new rules throughout, both in July and in November. We did not attempt to bypass them, nor did we do anything that negatively impacted our unblemished track record of safety,” he added.
