IRCTC Ticket Booking: Ahead of the festive season, the passengers have flagged several irregularities on the IRCTC website, alleging that the ticket booking process has not been smooth. While sharing their experiences, the passengers stated that the ticket was not delivered despite the deduction of the amount. They further alleged that the amount was not refunded within the deadline, leading to inconveniences.
Passengers Flag Technical Glitches
Over a dozen such cases have come to light in the past 48 hours where the applicants did not receive the ticket despite the full deduction due to the technical glitches. Apart from this, several individuals could not book a ticket despite making all the arrangements. They alleged that the website stopped working for almost an hour, adding that all the tickets were booked within minutes after that.
While providing details, Acharya Bhuvan stated that he booked the ticket twice, and while the full amount got deducted both times, the screen displayed a message stating, "Ticket booking failed". In another desperate attempt, Bhuvan tried for the third time. While he finally got a confirmed ticket, the amount for the two previously booked tickets is still stuck in the banking systems.
'Didn't Receive Ticket, Amount Deducted'
In a separate incident, Kanhaiya Gupta, another passenger, booked his trip online on the Sanghamitra Express. He received a bank message confirming the successful payment, but the ticket was not confirmed on the IRCTC portal. While Gupta has applied for the refund, he stated that the deduction of the amount has caused inconveniences, especially ahead of the festivals.
The trains to the northern states witness a significant surge in passengers ahead of the key festivals, including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Pooja. While the railways operate multiple special trains on these routes, these services also largely remain crowded.
As per the reports, the railway is likely to operate hundreds of special trains to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on these occasions.
