Jammu And Kashmir: An encounter is underway between security forces and Jaish terrorists in the Majalta area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, jagran.com reported. The army received information about the presence of two or three terrorists, following which the entire area was cordoned off.
According to sources cited by jagran.com, after receiving information about suspicious activity in the Chigla Balota, security forces cordoned off the area and intensified the search operation. Additional troops have been deployed throughout the area. A search operation was also launched in the Jophad area on Sunday night after reports of suspicious activity.
Indian Army's White Knight Corps posted about the operation on its official X handle and said, "In an intelligence-based joint operation, troops of Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF established contact with terrorists in the general area of Basantgarh at around 4 pm today. During this, a cordon and firing took place. Currently, the operation is ongoing."

On Saturday, an encounter under the ongoing Operation Trashi-I broke out between the security forces and terrorists in the general area of Dolgam.
The encounter was jointly carried out by the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. The army said intelligence from all sources was coordinated to plan and execute the operation on the ground.
In a statement, White Knight Corps said, "During the ongoing joint Operation Trashi-I, contact with terrorists was re-established in the early hours of 31 Jan 2026, in the general area of Dolgam by troops of White Knight Corps, J&K Police and CRPF. Intelligence from all sources had been coordinated to provide inputs to execute the operation on the ground. A cordon has been established and operations are in progress."
Operation Trashi-I was launched on January 18 after contact was established with the Jaish terrorists in the north of the general area Son Nar and northeast of Chhatru, near Mandral-Singhoora in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar.
