Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness a drop in temperature in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that most of the northern districts are set to experience a cold wave at least till December 22. The residents are also likely to witness fog in the early hours, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. The IMD emphasised that the minimum temperature in isolated regions is likely to remain 3-5 degrees Celsius below normal. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the morning hours.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, and Vijayapura, are likely to witness cold wave conditions for the next 2 days. Apart from this, the residents of Bengaluru are set to experience cloudy skies in the upcoming days. While the maximum temperature of the tech city is likely to be calculated at 26 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 15 degrees Celsius.

The weather department further stated that the temperatures will continue to remain cold in several other regions, including Vijayapura, Gadag, Raichur, Haveri, Mandya, Davangere, Chintamani, Shivamogga, Belgaum Airport, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Chitradurga, Bangalore HAL, Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore South, and Coastal Karnataka. The IMD stated that the minimum temperature in these regions is likely to be calculated between 9 and 13 degrees Celsius.

The IMD further stated that the upper-level cyclonic circulation has reduced over southern Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas, leading to a change in weather in the southern states. The coastal regions of Karnataka are likely to witness light to moderate rain in the last week of December. The weather department has advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.
