Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several parts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall at least till January 21. The weather department stated that some of the hilly regions and southern districts are set to witness a drop in temperature due to the rain. It further stated that several other regions are set to witness cold waves and dense fog, especially in the morning hours, leading to inconveniences for the residents. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

The weather department stated that several regions are likely to witness rain in the upcoming days due to the change in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. While providing details, it stated that several districts, including Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, and Mysore, are set to witness light to moderate rainfall till January 21. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several regions, disrupting the vehicular movement.

The weather department stated that the capital city, Bengaluru, is not likely to witness rain in the upcoming days; however, the residents will experience cloudy skies and gentle breezes. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 17 degrees Celsius. The IMD stated that several regions of Bengaluru, including Cubbon Park, Lalbagh, Varthur, and Whitefield, have witnessed a drop in temperature in the last two to three days.

The IMD has also stated that several regions of Bidar and North Karnataka are set to witness a sharp drop in temperature after January 20 due to the rain. Apart from Karnataka, the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu and Kerala are also likely to witness moderate rain. The weather department has advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies.
