The administration of Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan has been accused of violating Sikh 'rehat maryada' after news of an alleged dance party at its premises came to the fore.

The management of Pakistan's Project Management Unit (PMU) is accused of throwing a song and dance "party" outside its office, which is close to the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in the Narowal district.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a BJP leader and former president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), claimed that the Kartarpur Gurdwara administration had desecrated the shrine by holding a dance party on the grounds of the Kartarpur Sahib complex.

Videos from the alleged party on November 18 at the Gurdwara Shri Darbar Sahib complex, hosted by Sayed Abu Bakar Qureshi, CEO of the Project Management Unit, Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, have also surfaced.

In a post on X, Sirsa expressed his condemnation of the purported incident in which meat was allegedly consumed within the sacred premises and urged the Pakistani government to take immediate action against those responsible.

Sirsa on X said, “I strongly condemn the sacrilegious incident involving meat consumption within the sacred premises of Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib. It’s particularly disheartening that the Kartarpur Gurdwara committee administration was involved in this.”

Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), and Harmeet Singh Kalka, president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), have both taken note of the latest video, which has also gone viral on social media.

According to SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, if it took place on the grounds of the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib complex, it is a violation of "maryada" and "Sikh sentiments" at a location that has a special meaning for Guru Nanak Dev.
