The country is about to receive its first Vande Bharat sleeper train. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first Vande Bharat sleeper train on January 17. This train will run between Kolkata and Guwahati.
Along with the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, the prime minister will also flag off six new Amrit Bharat Express trains. Passenger services on these trains will begin on January 17 and 18.
First Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
On January 17, PM Modi will flag off the country's first Vande Bharat sleeper train in Maldah Town in West Bengal.
-Route: It will run between Guwahati and Kolkata.
-Schedule: Vande Bharat Sleeper train will run six days a week
-Fare: It is expected that the fare would be Rs 2,300 for 3AC with food included, Rs 3,000 for 2AC berth. Similarly for 1AC, the expected fare is around Rs 3,600.

2026, a year of Railway reforms
At the Distinguished Railway Service Awards ceremony held in Delhi, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that several major reforms are set to take place in Indian Railways in the year 2026. New methods and technologies will be used to ensure passenger safety.
The Railway Minister further said that 52 reforms will be introduced in 52 weeks this year, which will give a new look to Indian Railways in the coming days.
A new structural approach will be introduced to technology and innovation in trains, and AI will be used extensively.
