A long-standing dispute between two families in the Majhauli police station area, Jabalpur, turned violent on Friday night after tensions linked to a young woman's cancelled marriage erupted into a street clash. The confrontation saw stone-pelting, attacks with sticks and rods, and the torching of a car, creating panic in the locality.
Police have registered an FIR against 18 individuals based on complaints filed by both parties. According to officials, Harsh, a resident of the area, was previously friends with a young woman. The brawl turned into a fight, where members from both sides used sticks and rods as members from either side allegedly attacked them. The mob from both sides was found attacking each other while stones were also thrown around, which caused panic in the area, and residents rushed inside to avoid being hit by stones or rods.
