MP Road Accident: In a tragic incident in Madhya Pradesh, at least six people died and others got severely injured after a tractor-trolley carrying devotees met with an accident near the border of the Anuppur and Umaria districts. The accident created panic among the locals, who, along with the police, admitted the injured to a nearby hospital. As per the officials, while the exact reason behind the accident is not known yet, the vehicle could have overturned due to the driver's negligence.
As per the reports, at least 50 villagers were travelling from Padmaniya to Bijora on Friday to participate in a religious festivals. The locals stated that the devotees fell nearly 10 feet below the road due to the accident, leading to severe injuries. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital; however, sudden arrival of many patients led to panic.
The locals stated that the driver possibly lost the balance due to the over speeding, leading to the tragic incident. Harshal Pancholi, Anuppur Collector, stated that the hospital administration has been directed to provide highest-quality treatment to the injured.
"I visited Shahdol Medical College and met the injured patients to enquire about their health. Instructions have been issued to the Medical College administration to ensure the highest-quality treatment for all injured individuals," he was quoted as saying by ETV Bharat.
He further assured that the necessary assistance will be provided to the family members of the deceased and injured. He also stated that a probe has been launched to unearth the exact reason behind the road accident.
"The families of those who lost their lives in this accident will be provided financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each from the Chief Minister's discretionary relief fund and an additional Rs 4 lakh each under the Sambal Yojana," the senior official added.
