MP Monsoon Alert: With the onset of the Southwest Monsoon, a heavy deluge is likely to occur in major areas of Madhya Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the residents are likely to experience a relief from the intense heat and humidity, with maximum temperatures hovering between 28 degrees and 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperatures settle around 23 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius.

The weather department in Bhopal has issued red alerts for two districts, including Harda and Khandwa for Friday. Heavy to extreme rainfall is likely to occur, causing waterlogging and rivers to overflow. These areas are most likely to receive 204.5 mm of rainfall.

6 Districts On Orange Alert

Amid the incessant rainfall, the weather department has issued an orange alert for at least six districts in the state, including Dhar, Burhanpur, Khargone, Betul, Barwani, and Dewas. The weather is expected to be humid, accompanied by heavy rainfall and gusty winds, with precipitation ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.5 mm.

Yellow Alert Issued For 37 Districts

The erratic weather accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds has prompted the weather department to issue a yellow alert for 37 districts of the state. The alert is issued in districts including Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Agar, Bhind, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Morena, Satna, Sheopur Kalan, Shahdol, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Anuppur, Mauganj, Umaria, Dindori, Seoni, Vidisha, Panna, Damoh, Rajgarh, Raisen, Shajapur, Mandla, Katni, Balaghat, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Maihar. Winds may blow at speeds of 40 to 50 km/h in these areas.

Heavy Rain Alert In 19 Districts

Meanwhile, a heavy rain alert has been issued for 19 districts, including Ratlam, Ujjain, Rajgarh, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Dindori, and Anuppur.

Even as the central state has experienced a heavy deluge over the past few days, the distribution of rainfall still remains uneven. Although the monsoon has covered the entire state of Madhya Pradesh, rainfall distribution remains uneven. At least 38 districts have recorded rainfall below the average. Meanwhile, 15 districts—including Bhopal, Indore, and Dewas—have recorded above-normal rainfall. Dewas has recorded the highest rainfall so far at approximately 10.5 inches, while Bhopal and Indore are also among the districts that have received more than eight inches of rain.
