Just a day before the NEET-UG re-exam, two separate student suicides have been reported from Hyderabad, Telangana, and Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. A 19-year-old student committed suicide in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old student in Hosur, Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu, committed suicide due to extreme exam pressure and fear of failing.

Police in Hosur, Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu, recovered an emotional suicide note at the scene. The student stated that he had been unable to sleep for the past month due to fear of NEET and that he was taking this extreme step due to the fear of failing the exam again. HUDCO police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and have launched a thorough investigation.

According to police, Vetriyananthram had been preparing for the NEET exam for three consecutive years. Having failed in previous attempts, he was under immense pressure and feared failing again in today's exam.

On Saturday, Vetriyanantham committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in the living room while his father was at work and his mother had gone to a nearby shop.

The police recovered a highly emotional suicide note from the spot, in which the student wrote, "I was unable to sleep for the past one month due to the fear of NEET and I am taking this extreme step due to the fear of failing this time too. Amma, Appa, Anna... please forgive me."

In this suicide note, he expressed his deep love for his family and said that he considers himself lucky to have such parents and a brother.

Father works in a private job

The deceased has been identified as C. Vetriyanantham. He was the younger son of Chinnasamy, a private factory worker, and lived in the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) colony on Bagulur Road in Hosur. Police have registered a case and are investigating further.

NEET student commits suicide in Hyderabad

A similar incident has been reported from Hyderabad, Telangana, where a 19-year-old NEET aspirant committed suicide in the Miyapur area. According to news agency PTI, police said the woman, who lived with her sisters in an apartment in Miyapur, was found hanging on Saturday. During the investigation, police found a note allegedly written by the deceased, in which she said "No one was responsible for her death."

Based on preliminary investigation, police suspect that the student might have taken the extreme step due to pressure over the NEET re-examination scheduled for Sunday.
