New Delhi Election Result 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was defeated in his New Delhi seat by Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Parvesh Verma, the son of another former Chief Minister, by over 4,000 votes on Saturday, February 8. The IAS-turned-politician who rose to prominence with the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare, saw his dream of clinching the fourth consecutive term in the national capital, shatter, as BJP raced past the majority mark. Results Similar To Exit Polls
The results announced by the Election Commission of India (EC) on Saturday turned out similar to the exit polls released shortly after voting concluded for the 70-member assembly on Wednesday, February 5. The exit polls projected a significant shift in the political landscape of the national capital. Most pollsters had given the BJP an edge over the ruling AAP.
