The Congress leader and the LoP Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Sunday announced a march to the Supreme Court on Monday, appealing to opposition parties and civil society groups to join the demonstration against the Chief Election Commissioner of India (CEC), Gyanesh Kumar, over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

However, the Chief Justice of India (CJI), Surya Kant declined the INDIA bloc leaders' request for a meeting, news agency PTI reported, citing sources.

"Yesterday, the nation's young came out in Delhi to peacefully protest. They came with love in their hearts, not hatred or anger. They were beaten, both by cops and BJP goons. This is not the India we want," he said in a post on X.
