Among the major projects reviewed at the meeting was the proposed 136.30-km Delhi-Panipat-Karnal Namo Bharat corridor, estimated to cost Rs 33,510 crore.
The corridor will have 17 proposed stations, with four more stations planned for possible addition in the future. It is expected to strengthen connectivity between Delhi and the industrial and commercial centres of Panipat and Karnal.
Another proposal under consideration is the Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida-Greater Noida Namo Bharat corridor, which aims to link key employment, commercial and residential hubs across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The alignment and station locations for the Gurugram and Faridabad sections have already been finalised at the state level. DPRs have been sent to the concerned departments and development authorities for their comments.
Gurugram-Panchgaon Metro Near Approval
The proposed Sector 56, Gurugram-Panchgaon metro corridor has also reached the final stage of approval.
The 35.25-km elevated corridor will have 28 stations and is aimed at improving connectivity between Gurugram and Panchgaon. At Panchgaon, it will provide a connection with the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
