Social media users were amazed after a woman revealed that she left a job in the IT sector and became a Rapido auto driver. A content creator named Tanvi shared the woman’s story after she boarded the vehicle. While reaching the destination, the woman driver narrated her story about career choices, family pressure and the constant pressure to fulfil the societal expectations. The social media creator asked the woman, “You worked in IT?" To which the woman replied yes.

The ex-IT employee mentioned that she decided to quit her job after her father’s death. She was having a night shift, which restricted her from spending time with her mother. It became difficult to balance her night shifts with her responsibilities towards her mother.
The woman then decided to make a career switch. Becoming an auto driver was not the first choice, particularly after working in the corporate sector. Even as the woman's family was initially against the decision, she said. She still decided to go ahead with it.
'The change was worth it,' the woman said in the Instagram video. The woman told Tanvi that her new job is not bad and that she earns more than she did in IT. More importantly, it allows her to have greater control over her time and stay closer to her mother.

Her profession also often left passengers surprised. Some, she said, questioned how she could drive an auto despite speaking fluent English. The remark captured the assumptions she regularly encounters while working in a field traditionally dominated by men.
Tanvi then asked the woman, "But what will people say?" To this, the former corporate employee gave a bold reply, saying, ““She chose not to care. She chose freedom. She chose independence. She chose to take charge of her own life.”
Calling her a “single daughter” and “a woman in a male-dominated field”, Tanvi praised her decision to choose a career that worked for her circumstances rather than conforming to expectations.
“Because being brave isn’t always about doing something extraordinary,” she wrote. “Sometimes, it’s simply having the courage to say, 'This is what I want. And I’m choosing it’," Tanvi wrote.”
