Bombay Shaving Company founder Shantanu Deshpande has sparked a debate online after calling out drivers who park big SUVs on roads just to grab a cup of tea. In a video that has gone viral online, the entrepreneur expressed sharp frustration over careless parking habits that cause severe traffic jams and inconvenience to commuters.

"Zero Education, Zero Productivity": Deshpande Calls Out Power Displays

According to Deshpande, parking large vehicles right at entrances is rarely out of necessity; it is a flex. He described offenders as a "bunch of morons" using their cars to flaunt political influence, power, or real estate wealth, sometimes parking eight to ten vehicles at a single spot.

Deshpande didn't hold back in his critique, stating that individuals who break traffic rules to show off their power exhibit "zero education" and "zero productivity".

"Demographic Dividend"

Rather than wasting energy on street-side displays of power, Deshpande suggested that these individuals channel their potential toward pursuits such as athletics or national security.

He concluded the video with a sharp, sarcastic remark, calling the sight of SUVs crowding the road "the demographic dividend of India on full display".

The phrase "demographic dividend," which usually refers to the economic benefit a country can gain from having a large young working population, resonated deeply with everyday people stuck in traffic.

The entrepreneur's remarks sparked mixed reactions on social media. Many users rallied behind Deshpande, with one viewer commenting, "Couldn't agree more, sir."

However, others pushed back against his views, defending SUV owners and pointing out broader street management issues.

"There's nothing wrong with that. If people go to have tea in a Fortuner or an Innova, it's fine because that might be the only car they have. If you have a problem with parking space, you should also blame illegal stalls and shops taking up the road. Just because someone has an expensive car doesn't mean they don't have brains—stop complaining like a baby," a user commented.
