State Bureau, Patna: Bihar Congress Chief Rajesh Ram on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of sending Delhi Police to party offices to intimidate workers while the INDIA bloc was holding a rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.
Ram stated that the recent action by the Delhi Police team at the Bihar Congress headquarters (Sadaqat Ashram) in Patna shows that the Home Minister is scared of the opposition's mobilisation.
Bihar Congress Alleges Delhi Police Misconduct At Patna Office
The Bihar Congress chief alleged that police personnel intimidated and misbehaved with the family members of office staff residing on the ashram premises.
According to Ram, authorities deliberately chose to carry out the raid on a day when Bihar Congress leaders and workers were away in Delhi attending the rally. He further claimed that the ruling BJP government has stooped to low levels to suppress voices being raised across the country against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
AI-Generated Video Sparks Investigation
The Delhi Police visit to the party headquarters was linked to an ongoing investigation into an AI-generated video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother.
The controversy stems from a post shared by the Bihar Congress's official X handle (@INCBihar), which allegedly used AI to depict PM Modi and his mother alongside political comments. Following complaints, the Delhi Police Special Cell launched an investigation into the handle's operators.
After questioning staff members on-site, the police team pasted a notice at the headquarters seeking details regarding the video and the operators managing the account before leaving.
INDIA Bloc's Ramlila Maidan Rally
Key INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, on Sunday gathered at Ramlila Maidan to raise concerns over the alleged irregularities in the SIR of electoral rolls.
The mobilisation followed a public "impeachment" program organised against the CEC in the national capital. Senior opposition leaders and supporters from across the country participated in the 'Chalo Delhi' march, which began at the Minto Road-Connaught Place junction and proceeded to the rally venue.
