INDIA Bloc Protest: Over the last three days, the Congress-led opposition parties have staged large-scale protests across the nation, seeking resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The senior leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Abhishek Banerjee, staged a sit-in at Rajghat on Thursday. However, a video has emerged in which two women Congress leaders were seen slapping each other during a protest march in Faridabad.

Congress Leaders Slap Each Other

Congress leaders Parag Sharma and Gajna Lamba reportedly got into a fight during the protest in Faridabad against the alleged poll-rigging in the recent polls. As per the video going viral on the social media platforms, Sharma, who earlier had contested the assembly election from Ballabgarh, was leading the demonstration. However, the scuffle broke out when Lamba, along with her supporters, tried to overtake Sharma.

While initially the two leaders got engaged in a verbal argument, Sharma slapped her fellow party member. In response, Lamba also slapped her back, leading to a ruckus at the site. The other senior leaders present at the site intervened and tried to separate the two leaders.

Separate Complaints Received: Police

Station House Officer (SHO) Vishnu Mittar stated that separate cases have been filed by the two leaders against each other. "Separate complaints have been received from two women politicians-one is Gajna Lamba and the other is Parag Sharma. A dispute broke out between them during a rally over taking down a photo, which led to verbal abuse and physical assault," the police officer said.

While talking about the incident, Lamba alleged that Sharma had provoked her during the protest, adding that she seemed "mentally disturbed". The Congress leader further alleged that she described the full incident to the senior leaders, adding that they have supported her, reported by news agency IANS. Parag Sharma is yet to address the matter.
