Women in Delhi can now avail free travel on DTC and cluster buses only through the "Pink Saheli Smart Card", officials said on Sunday. The Delhi transport department said that female passengers in Delhi can travel free in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses, both AC and non-AC, only with the use of the Pink Saheli Smart Card (NCMC). However, they will have the option to purchase a ticket at the applicable fare for the journey. Women with no Pink Saheli Smart Card can travel through DTC buses by purchasing tickets for the public transport.

How to apply for the Pink Smart Card?

Female passengers in Delhi can avail the Pink Smart Card in two ways:

Offline Mode

Applicants can visit a DTC centre, DM office, or SDM office. They need to provide their name, mobile number, and Aadhaar details to the concerned FOS agent for onboarding. Once the OTP verification is completed, the card is issued on the same day.

Online Mode

Applicants can register via the MufinPay by entering their mobile number and Aadhaar details and completing OTP-based verification. After successful registration, they can download the QR acknowledgement and collect the physical card from an authorised DTC centre.

Women can use the cards for metro and rail as well

Apart from the buses, the pink Saheli smart card can also be used to travel through the metro and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. However, one has to add money to the card to travel by these public transport.

Money can be added by scanning the QR code printed on the back of the card through a UPI application. To use the balance on the Delhi Metro, the card needs to be topped up through an Add Value Machine (AVM) at a metro station.
