Delhi Metro Update: In view of the protest called by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in the national capital demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced revised security restrictions across 45 metro stations.

Which Metro Stations Are Affected?

According to the DMRC, the entry and exit gates at these stations will remain closed till 6 pm on Saturday, as a precautionary measure. However, interchange facilities will remain operational at all affected stations except New Delhi Metro station. DMRC said the situation will be reviewed by security agencies, with further updates to be issued as necessary.

Traffic Restrictions In Delhi

Separately, traffic restrictions are in force across Delhi. The Delhi Traffic Police has imposed diversions from 6 am, with movement likely to remain affected at around 30 key points across the national capital. Commuters are advised to follow traffic police instructions and use alternative routes wherever possible. They have been asked to plan their journeys in advance and keep extra travel time, especially if travelling to railway stations, inter-state bus terminals (ISBTs) or the airport through New Delhi and Central Delhi.
