CJP Protest: Security has been tightened across the national capital in view of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest in Jantar Mantar on Saturday. The demonstrations centre on demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. As part of security measures, drones are being deployed to monitor the security situation around the roundabout near Hotel Le Meridien in central Delhi.
According to news agency ANI, drone surveillance is being used to keep a close watch on the area. Authorities have also implemented traffic and route diversions as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
Although the Delhi Police has denied permission for the protest, the CJP has maintained that they will proceed with the demonstration.

Security Heightened With 35,000 Security Personnel Deployed
To prevent any breach of law and order, the Delhi Police has deployed around 5,000 personnel, including police and paramilitary forces. Barricades, surveillance cameras, and additional personnel have been deployed at sensitive places. To deal with any unauthorised demonstrators, Delhi Police has also established detention centres and barricading points. More than 30 blockade points have been made, including locations along Delhi’s border. Moreover, Central Armed Police Forces have also been placed on alert.

Internet Suspended
Ahead of the CJP protest, mobile services have been suspended within a four-kilometre radius of the Janpath-Kartavya Path crossing from 10 pm on Friday until 10 pm on Saturday.
