Delhi Metro Service Update: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Monday that entries and exits at six metro stations will remain closed for 10 hours for security reasons. In an official service update, the DMRC said that the security agencies will review the situation and necessary updates will be shared accordingly.

The fresh announcement came a day after the Supreme Court lifted the restrictions imposed due to protests and directed the Delhi Police to ensure normal and free movement across the capital unless restrictions are strictly necessary to maintain public order.

As per DMRC, entries and exits will be closed at the following stations:

  • Patel Chowk
  • Janpath
  • Rajiv Chowk
  • Mandi House
  • Central Secretariat
  • Barakhamba Road

The restrictions will be imposed for 10 hours from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, the DMRC has announced that interchange facilities will function normally at these stations.

INDIA bloc protest today

After two days of CJP's huddle in the national capital, the Congress-led INDIA bloc is set to resume its protest, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The INDIA bloc leaders had sought a meeting with the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, which was denied. The top SC judge cited similar sub judice matters in the court.

However, the Opposition bloc will proceed with their plan to march to the Supreme Court. Notably, the Leaders of Opposition in both the houses, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, had written to the CJI seeking a meeting between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Monday to hand over a formal memorandum.
